I enjoy experiancing new things with my DSA family. This year my reflection will be on on Mekanism. Last year I visited beyond Pix, and their environment was very much not what I expected because of the fact that it was very quiet. Now my thoughts about other companies are different . I no longer think that they are very loud and fast like how they showed them on t.v.

Mekanism is a quiet place to work at , but if you look at their website it looks very spontaneous and fun and random . As I walked into the building it looked like a chill place to kick back because of the fun carpets and because everything is everywhere and everyone dresses casual. I saw staff working on different projects with the kind of programs we use here . I learned that companies main skills are communication, critical thinking , and of course subliminal creativity . Communication, is used to get and give feedback. Critical thinking is used when you need to plan out certain things and make sure they make sense and commercials come out to be fun but still have a meaning to them . Creativity is used at Mekanism so that their commercials would come out good and so that they won’t loose customers because of lack of creativity .

Today i am extremely thankful for fast food ! So today i stayed home all day doing chores and preparinh for school. I stayed home by myself with nothing in my refrigerator and nothing in the cabinets, not even one single cookie . I felt like my tummy was in world war 7 lol. But knowing me loving junk food and always having money in my wallet i wanted burger so bad ! It was crazy ! So i just grabbed my wallet and took off . It was 9:30 and i was still home alone , ! But luckily burger king was there to save my life burger king ? Oh why have yu always been so faithful to me , always been there when i need yu the most . Haha . Anyway thanks burger king i widely appreciate you

Today i am thankful for the mall .
If it werent for the mall id die of boredemness . I knoe yu can yu do other things than shop all day. To me the mall is my pain reliever gets my mind off of things that i shouldnt even be worrying about at such a young age. I rather shop than clean, read, babysit, or any other productuve things. My dad says i spend too much time at the mall, he says hes gunna build me a little tent in there so i can just live there since he says i almost already do. Hes crazy , or am i crazy? . Hmm who knows!! But anyway thank yu mall for being my pain easer or whatevr , widely appreciate it !

Today i am thankful for my moms job. Shes been wanting a job at kaiser for a long , long , long, LONG time! Until finally god answered all of our prayers. Before se used to work at jcpennys , we were skating on thin ice on loosing our house. But nw that she got this job its like now shes less stress , she goes to sleep with less worries on what will be layed on the kitchen table to eat , or where our home would be . Yes , she spends less time at home , but i can tell shes happy with what a huge blessing came along her way. Thank yu Kaiser Permanente for giving my mom the chance to smile again. Widely appreciate it .

So today i am thankful for the trash people. Even though they make hecka noise at 5 in the morning with their humongous truck , i thank them because if it werent for them , we’d probably have a backyard of trash. My mom is the type that literally cleans the “clean” so every five minutes the trash can is filled up again , i dont understand where it all comes , makes me wonder how it gets filled up fast if my house is already clean. So thank yu trash truck drivers for picking up my trash every week widely appreciate it !

the presentations were amazing , i think we all did very good. we all achieved something that some of  us didn’t think we could.

I think that my group could have done a better job, we could have studied more. but we did a good job backing each other up.

i think i did a good job i practiced all my pages just incase if my teammates needed any help. but i think i did a bad job answering the questions. but ONEE of the judges (ugh) was a challenging one, asking questions that were like a paragraph long. but i knoe we answered it the best we could.

id like to thank my group very much. Especially ZACHARY ASUNSHINE ! aha couldn’t do it without yu ! , widely preciate it. although we fought throughout this whole project, screaming at each other, got on each others nerves. answering my obnoxious questions. lol but in the end we knew we had to cooperate with each other eventually.OH YEAH AND MRS. LEANORD !! Thanks for helping us as much as yu could , . Love yu guys .

On my career exploration visit to Beyond Pix I had several predictions that came out to be wrong, but i also had some that were right. the work site was a quiet environment . Everybody was working and getting things done. I saw no procrastination; they were all using their time wisely. There weren’t as many people as I expected. I expected more noise. I guess not all work sites are similar to how they show them on television. Beyond pix attracted me because of the fact that I found out that they work with Tyra Banks and many other TV shows.

I would like to work at a place like this, because it looks like a nice and calm work place. although it looks like it could get boring because there is no noise being made. I saw people giving and receiving feedback. The editors showed me their plans and goals that they had to reach. Everybody worked independently, but if they ever needed someone’s thought and opinion others wouldn’t hesitate to lend a hand and help out.

I learned that Beyond Pix shoots production films in a video studio. They HAve to go through an editing process and create a tape . That tape is shipped to make DVD’s and to be transformed into videos world-wide such as You Tube, There are many different people that put the video together such as the light adjuster, sound effects, the revisers etc. They showed us a video clip they made for Nascar. They explained to us all the processes they had to go through to finish it, like I’ve explained in my first’s paragraphs.

Colleges all have requirements that we have to meet. Some people get in, some people don’t. On my trip to U.C Berkeley I learned that college is an independent place. By that I mean the students have to be on their own, and you’re not going to have teachers constantly reminding you to do your homework. Teachers don’t even know your name or know if you come to class.

At U.C Berkeley they have a thing called sororities and fraternities. All boys and girls live in separate dorms for their freshman year at college. My tour guide highly recommended us to live at school at least for our first year. It helps us be benevolent and become friends with your  roommates and not be tremulous about the college life.

My reflection on this tour is that if I really want to become someone in life, I have to be determined and not give up, ignore everyone that will doubt in me, find help and take extra curricular courses. My GPA may not be excellent, but I’m sure if I get the help, I will meet my goals , and prove to everyone I’m capable of anything.
